Place | 21COE/REDEEM Lecture Hall, Biomedical Engineering 21COE/REDEEM Building (Aobayama Campus) |
Outline |
(Senior Lecturer in Audiology, Department for Hearing and Balance Studies, University of Bristol, UK) "Current Development of Multiple Frequency Tympanometry and Its Clinical Applications" This talk will cover the current knowledge and development regarding the multiple frequency tympanometry and its clinical applications. Although previous studies have demonstrated that MFT is a useful diagnostic tool for the evaluation of several middle ear pathologies, at present, there are still no some clear guidelines on simple interpretation, and so forth that are associated with the protocols of clinical application of MFTs. This talk will highlight the clinical importance of MFT. It would provide further insight into the middle ear dynamics in normal and pathological middle ear systems, and thus contribute to further clinical application of MFT and stimulate research in this fast developing area. |
